Your data, handled with care

FormatIQ is a document-formatting tool for students and researchers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Account details you provide when signing up — name, username, email, and optionally age, phone, city, and institution.
Sign-in provider data — if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your basic profile and email from them. We request nothing beyond that.
Documents you upload — processed only to produce your formatted output. Your paper drafts are processed transiently and are not used to train any model.
Usage records — which tools you use and when, so we can show your dashboard and improve the product.

To create your formatted documents, run your account and dashboard, provide support, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party ads.

Your account data is stored with our infrastructure providers (including Supabase for authentication and database). Access is restricted, and each account can only see its own data.

We only ask for what helps run the product. Age, phone, city, and institution are optional — you can leave them blank.

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time. Email us and we'll action it.

FormatIQ is intended for university and college students and adults. It is not directed at children under 13.

FormatIQ reformats the words you write — it does not write your paper for you, generate content, or alter your meaning. You remain the author of and responsible for your work.
